We are pleased to announce that we are moving to a new premises in the heart of Sussex. The simple reason for this is that we have grown out of our current building and we are therefore moving to a much larger studio and showroom in Mid Sussex.

As most of our wedding venues and clients are from the Sussex area we hope that this move will be more convenient for everyone-it saves us all battling the traffic to get in and out of the city of Brighton and Hove! That said, we will of course continue to serve wedding venues within Brighton, including some of our favourites; Hotel du Vin, Drakes Hotel, the Old Ship Hotel and the Grand Hotel to name but a few.

So everyone grab your wellies as you will now find the new headquarters of The Vintage Flower House in the stunning countryside between Haywards Heath and Ditchling Village. Our beautiful barn will be full with all of our gorgeous glassware and accessories!

There is plenty of parking at the studio and if you wish to come by train the nearest stations are Haywards Heath or Wivelsfield.

Please note will be be closed from Friday the 30th April for the move and will reopen on Tuesday the 4th May from our new location.

So if you are coming for a consultation with us we look forward to welcoming you to our new studio which is surrounded by the most beautiful Sussex countryside. We can’t wait!

Beautiful Bridal Jewellery at Wintersweet

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

wintersweetI remember when I got married I really wanted a piece of jewellery that I could wear on my wedding day and keep forever. I think there is something very special about a piece of bridal jewellery whether it is earrings, a necklace, a bracelet or a hair piece. But I found finding something completely unique and not mainstream a challenge.

Then I came across Wintersweet and my love for exquisite jewellery was increased!

Wintersweet is based in the picturesque village of Cuckfield West Sussex. When you walk into the shop you feel like you have stepped into a Parisian boutique. Beautiful Wintersweet is full of Ziio, Mirabelle, Maria Calderara and Tataborello jewellery. You will certainly be spoilt for choice, as I was. Rebecca and her team were more than happy to advise me on what would work best with my dress to ensure that I made the perfect choice.

Safe to say I was completely smitten with the shop. If you live too far from Cuckfield to make a visit check out their beautiful website www.wintersweet.co.uk. They ship to all over the world and the pictures are extremely clear of the products so you can see exactly what you will be buying.

So for bespoke bridal jewellery check out www.wintersweet.co.uk whether you are a bride or fancy treating yourself I am sure there is a stunning piece of jewellery waiting for you.

Metallina Rose with Vendela and Sweet Avalanche Roses, Ranunculus and Snowberries

Metallina Rose with Vendela and Sweet Avalanche Roses, Ranunculus and Snowberries

This year we have had the pleasure of being involved in so many different types of weddings. We have designed arrangements using all different colours including vintage shades, to glamorous whites, from tropical delights to pretty pinks. It has been such an exciting year with so many different types of themes and colours.

With a very busy month of weddings in December approaching, I have had a moment to reflect over the last eleven months and see what has been the flower which has come up trumps and for me without a doubt it has been the Metallina rose.

As ever the vintage theme seems to be endless. Brides and grooms’ are still coming to us today looking for those delicate antique shades that will create their desired vintage look. Whenever I have suggested this beautiful rose everyone seems to get very excited.

The Metallina rose is one of my favourites. Its stunning petals have a mixture of soft lilac and silver, while its tips look as if they have been dipped in a lovely rose pink. In my mind this rose really sums up what the theme of vintage is really all about. Pretty and chic, with an antique twist.

If you combine it with Old Dutch and Hypnoses roses you really get that wonderful antique look. However, if you mix Sweet Avalanche roses into the design then you get a fresh, lovely summery look with delicate romantic shades.

We have used this rose a number of times throughout 2009 and it is looking to be just as popular for 2010. Every time we use it whether it is in bouquets, or reception flowers the reaction is always extremely positive.

If you are searching for a vintage rose, or want something a little different have a look at the Metallina rose, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
