Not Snow Globes but Flower Globes!

flower-globesAt this time of year we are always extremely busy with consultations. We love meeting brides and grooms’ for the first time and hearing their ideas of what they want for their special day. There will often be something that they have seen on our website www.vintageflowerhouse.co.uk which they simply love and want to base their arrangements on.

We always tailor every design to the individual couple so that their flowers are completely unique. But there is always a design on the website that people seem to love and this year it’s all about the Flower Globe!

This beautiful design proved incredibly popular in 2009 and 2010 looks to be the same once again. The fishbowl has been around for years and is seen on many table tops at weddings; twisting calla lilies is always a favourite wedding display. But I think now brides’ are looking for something different and this design is the way forward.

It makes a modern vase look beautifully vintage. It is important to use rounded flowers so that they compliment the shape of the vase. For an Autumn and Winter wedding look to use Hellebores, with ranunculus. Bring in some stunning anemones and berries-snowberries if available- it will be a winter delight for your guests. For the sunny months bring in fabulous hydrangeas and combine them with stunning peonies and pastel roses. This summer display will capture the feeling of vintage romance in a single vase.
