Ockenden Manor Wedding FlowersWeddings at Ockenden Manor CuckfieldWeddings at Ockenden Manorockenden manor weddingsThis time of year we are always really busy working on wedding flowers in Sussex. Last weekend we visited one of our favourite wedding venues in Sussex Ockenden Manor. The charming hotel is beautifully situated and offers guests a luxury getaway.

The Ockenden suite was filled with country purple and lilac flowers. Working with low cylinder vases we created dome shape displays using stocks, scabious, hydrangeas, Ocean Song roses, lavender and mint. The displays certainly bought a touch of the country setting into the reception room.

The beautiful wedding venue is situated in West Dean, which is just outside Chichester and is truly idyllic. The staff are so friendly adding to the warm atmosphere.

Hydrangeas, peonies and roses were arranged in goldfish bowls and large balls of flowers were created on column vases. Beautiful flowers in a beautiful setting.

Martinis’ at Newick Park!

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Martini VaseswreathsNewick Park was looking ever so fabulous on Saturday-despite the weather! The two beautiful reception rooms were full of our stunning 100cm tall Candelabras, combined with our Sex and the City Martini vases.

The whole wedding followed colours that are in Gustav Klimts’ painting; ‘The Kiss’.  It was a beautiful theme and we certainly had fun with the colours. Using fuchsia pinks, with show stopping purples, with a hint of golden creams made the whole hotel feel very bright, fun and colourful!

Perfect Pew Ends

Pew-ends

Pew-ends

I always think that even if you don’t want much in your ceremony room but you know you want something, pew ends are the way forward. They can be kept simple or they can be made into something quite elaborate, but however they are they really set the scene of a celebration.

We did some wedding flowers at South Lodge Hotel last Sunday and the petit pew ends really added a sense of occasion to the room. If you have a tight budget go for one flower and have them on every other row. You will still get that wonderful entrance feeling but without blowing the budget!
